Yep, that great song back in 1969 by The Archies.
Why bring this up? Well, I’m reading a great book titled Power Your Happy by Lisa Sugar, founder of PopSugar.com — while it’s not a site that I’d ever go to (celebs, etc) — I am learning through her book how she and her site got so popular!
Discover Your True Passion
Yep, it does seem obvious that what your passion is is what you should be doing for a living. That way, work is not work. But what’s wrong with work? Lisa and I agree on that topic. Work hard, play nice. I’m not a work-hard, play-hard type of person. Heck, I’m worn out by noon. I like the play nice instead.
Be Nice
There’s nothing wrong with being nice. I’d rather be thought of as a nice person than a hateful one. There’s too much hate in this world already so I’m not going to add to it.
I hope that the hate culture wears itself out (soon) and we get back to being nice and polite. Where’s yo manners, missy?
Awesome Achievement
Lisa is only 40 as I type this. She has a company that employs over 500 folks. What an awesome achievement. With massive responsibility too. She makes sure that the work environment is fun. That’s not something new, but it works! If you’re going to work your butt off (for you or someone else), you might as well find something that’s up your alley and fun to do.
Work Hours
Another thing I agree with Lisa on is work when you feel like working. Even if that means only four hours a day, or fourteen hours a day. I’m in the latter group. Yeah, even though I feel “worn out” by noon, taking a brief break (aka lunch) works wonders and gets my creative juices flowing again.
Right now I’m relying on coffee. Don’t we all?
OMG – that song took me back plus video has come a long way since then!
Thx Jesse! Yeah, from crappy video to 4K!
