Am I Blue, Am I Blue? Not yet. But I’m getting there, well, the house is! It’s been a while since we contracted with our exterior painter. But as (bad) luck would have it, he’s had more than his fair share of crap to deal with.
So, the poor house has been waiting … and waiting. But it had a ray of sunshine yesterday … my painter came and did more work on the front elevation. It’s starting to take on the vision I had when we first bought the place.
Pretty soon, the light green you see will be a pretty shade of a robin’s egg blue – very Florida/Key West … and I can’t wait! But I am waiting! Hey, it’ll be even more “worth the wait” when it’s done. It’s like having to wait for Christmas.
New This, That, And The Other …
Well, one new roof, gutters, water heater, pool pump, and air conditioner later, the place feels like home. My wallet is thin. But my spirits are high. We’re approaching the finish line.
I’m pretty sure our neighbors across the road will be pleased when the house painting is done. (Six months and counting).
Planting Seeds And Trees
I’ve got a row of plants waiting out back to move to their new home out front. I lost a couple though. Yeah, should have watered them more (ya think?)! Nothing screams Florida more than swaying palms so we put one in. Felt sorry for it over at Home Depot; you know, the straggler for $15. We’ll give “Palmer” a shot. Hey, I’ve even got a blue Heron to stick out front.
Lucky Neighbors?
It’s such a shame though. What? Why? Well … I don’t get to see the results of my work (and the roofers, and the painters, and the pool pump replacers) as I’m inside the darned house all day.
It’s the neighbors who get to glance over and admire the hours of handiwork and paint colors (hopefully).
